Local medical support

Collaboration with the NGO “Llevant en Marxa”

 

In April 2024 and February 2025, we supported the Mallorcan NGO "Llevant en Marxa" in providing local medical support to Dassanesh populations in high precariousness. Made up of around ten doctors , this NGO went there with medical equipment to provide support to pregnant women, children and anyone affected by the need for treatment.

 

Our support for this NGO took the form of coordinating their work on site via our field coordinator Masresha, providing translators and human resources in April 2024, since two members of For Equity were present on site alongside them during their visits to the target communities.

 

One of the target communities during the two visits was the Kelem displaced persons camp, made up of 12,000 people, for whom we will carry out a project to provide access to drinking water in 2025. We also provided care using the operating theatre that we built within the Omoraté medical centre, which is currently being commissioned.
